Mozambique
How does one describe a country like this?

With a coastline of 2500 kms, wildlife areas, the beauty of the mountains with huge boulders, Mozambique offers a holiday destination that people are coming from far and wide to experience.

Waving palm trees, potholed roads. Pristine beaches, poverty but endless smiles. Sand dunes, overcrowded clinics. Deep sea fishing, the local community in need of a job.

Feel alive as you explore the various aspects the country has to offer. Mozambique a very special place.

An easy days drive from Hoedspruit - one may go through the Giriyondo Border Post which you approach from the Letaba Camp in the Kruger National Park. There are usually no more than 3 cars ever waiting to go through this Border Post. The road then continues through the Transfrontier Park and over Massingir Dam wall. Alternatively, use the route via Ressano Garcia Border Post via Nelspruit, and Komatipoort.

Is Mozambique safe? Sure. Safety is an attitude. Never once in all my trips have I ever felt even the least bit 'uncomfortable'.

There is an amazing spirit of friendship and calm. Overall, people are friendly and helpful.

Do you bribe? Most definitely not. This only feeds on the 'culture' of bribes being acceptable. If one slows down in the small towns that say "60 km speed limit", and your car is completely roadworthy, there is absolutely no need for you to bribe anyone. At the southern border post it is acceptable to give someone some money to assist you with the paperwork and getting through quicker than normal. This is a 'service fee' and not a bribe. It is, however, always wise to pre-determine the amount.

Take a sincere interest in the country, look at the incredible architecture left behind by the Portuguese before the war, marvel at the old homes and imagine them restored.

This is an amazing place!

Imbondeiro - near Chidinguele

Bicycles pull over to let you pass. Chickens scatter. Children with huge grins wave their arms off. Coconuts are stacked and await collection. The welcome is warm and so typical of Mozambique. Stop at the local store and stock up on the well known ‘Deusch M' beer.

Imbondiero is situated 20kms off the EN1 Mozambique's main road that runs north to south. Inland lakes give you a taste of what is to come. Pass through reeds taller than your vehicle. Find a 4 x 4 road just before the beach and you are almost there.

Two fully-furnished homes now complete.

Imbondeiro offers snorkelling, deep sea and rock fishing, safe swimming, rock pools to explore, an estuary for the kids stretches inland for a long way and keeps birding enthusiasts happy. Mom and the kids will love the variety of shells. The emphasis is on good 'old fashioned' family holidays.

The homes will all enjoy both sea/beach views as well as the inland lakes. Solidly built of timber with the natural Mozambique 'thatching' of palm fronds, interwoven and water proof.

The Mathewson group, well known in Hoedspruit, Limpopo for their integrity, are the family responsible for this stunning initiative. They will retain their home at Imbondeiro – showing a belief in what they are creating. A management committee will take over and be responsible for the day to day running, rental opportunities, and cleaning and upkeep.

Shares will be rotated so that everyone gets a chance during peak periods such as Easter, long weekends and Christmas.

Phase 2 now selling.

Don't wait. Come along on one of our trips – you won't be sorry.

Priced: R350,000 for a 2 month per annum share – last few shares available in Phase 1

Lake Poelela

Just south of Zavora.

This is another of those incredible opportunities - get in from the start and never look back. Situated on the white sandy shores of a huge 54 square kilometre (24 square mile) lake, the opportunities for water sports are endless.

The developer, already well known in Mozambique, has established 3 of the homes planned at Lake Poelela.

Each home will sleep eight people in luxury. The main house has two large bedrooms en suite with an outdoor shower. There are two separate suites both with their own bathrooms set just away from the house. The living area and kitchen are huge, ensuring that the whole family has their own space as well as being a good place to spend time together, enjoy meals and just relax.

Meet your neighbours, braai under the palm trees as you watch the magnificent sunsets. Bring your own paddle skis, canoes, yachts, and rubber tubes. With a little colour added to the water, one can imagine Lake Poelela in a few years time - having become one of the most sought-after places to be.

Access to the beach is by 4 x 4 road at this stage but only a few kilometres away. The variety of shells will amaze you. Snorkelling and swimming. Rocks to explore. Make sand castles with the kids. Let Dad go deep sea fishing.

The homes sell at R2.0M currently and this includes a free, unserviced, 'sea front' site. Syndicate with friends and, when not in use, put the house back in to the rental pool. Reservations are pouring in as more and more people discover the tranquillity the Lake offers.

The area is fast becoming an artists' retreat, as well as becoming known for horse riding, dune forest walks, diving and relaxing. The close-knit community all care about each other and want each other to succeed in their own ventures. Doctors for Life is close by and services the permanent residents as well as he local community.

Marimba Beach
North of Maxixe
A Development Opportunity

North of Inhambane. 5 hectares of beach front + +.

An unrivalled opportunity to secure this 500m pristine stretch of safe, level beach front. Having been through the same painful process that most people trying to follow a dream in Mozambique do, the owner has been ‘burnt’ and lost money but never lost faith in the local community who have been nothing but supportive throughout the whole process.

“Duat” is awaited within a matter of weeks. ‘Duat’ is the document one obtains that indicates “the right of use of the land”. To have reached this stage means that the owner has the support of the locals, paid the necessary and realistic amounts to them, been through the paperwork, opened a bank account, has a tax number, followed the legal process in terms of the Government Gazette and paid all the necessary fees.

The community settlement is about 2 kms from the beach. They do not rely on the sea for their subsistence. They are only looking to secure some employment to supplement their way of life.

For someone who would like to take this opportunity and turn it in to their own venture, the site offers safe swimming, boating off the beach, the opportunity to implement dhow cruises, and walks amidst the millions of palm trees. Most importantly – if the area is googled, a clearly defined diving reef lies just off the beach. The owner wonders if this could become another Sylvia Shoal?

Are YOU willing to take this further and submit your business plan and apply for your building licence?
